The U.A.F.S., the largest marine science association in the world, has launched a new program aimed at helping marine biologists obtain the “Ocean’s Most Popular” certification.
The program, called the Marine Social Science Certificate, aims to help scientists get more international recognition for their work.
“We have a great number of applicants from around the world and they’re working hard to achieve this recognition,” said Michael A. Zolakowski, chairman and CEO of the Association, which is headquartered in Newport, R.I. “They’ve gone through a process of being accepted into international conferences, being accepted to prestigious conferences.
They’re now seeking to gain recognition for what they do.”
The new program, which will launch in 2018, will be a two-year, $1,500 program.
Students will have to successfully complete an online social science exam, which takes about two weeks, followed by a four-week social science seminar.
They’ll then receive a certificate that will be accepted by national organizations.
“I think this is the first time that they’ve had a program for marine scientists to apply to,” Zolukowski said.
The organization said that it was developing the program in partnership with the Association of American Universities and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The association said it is working with the U,A.M., NOAA and other U.N. agencies to identify and help train marine biologists to meet the requirements of the program.
The U,B.C. program was created to address the “great challenge of securing global recognition for our marine biologists and their work,” according to a statement by the association.
It will provide students with training in social science and marine biology, as well as how to apply the science to marine conservation and management.
The new certification program will be available in 2018.
“This is going to be a valuable tool for all of our marine scientists who are looking to advance their careers and earn international recognition,” Zoltukowski added.
